Bring on 2011

Well 2011 is here and already it feels like business in the industry is picking up. I trust you have enjoyed a good break over the Christmas holidays and are ready for all the opportunities that the New Year will bring. For most of you that have gotten your hands on AllyCAD 2011, we are very happy to hear the positive feedback from our conversion courses with regards to the new software. It makes us feel that all the late hours, extra time and effort that we have put into the new version has been worth it. AllyCAD 2011 is after all a huge step forward from AllyCAD 3.6. To find out what's new in AllyCAD 2011, please visit our website's "What's New" page.

Besides adding in 3D capabilities to the software and ensuring full DWG compatibility, we have also received much praise on the following two new features in particular:

PRODUCTION DRAWINGS THAT UPDATE ON THE FLY
Our system will automatically generate all your final plans as dynamically updating layouts which will reflect all drafting changes instantly so that your design and production drawings are always in sync.

SHEETFILE EDITOR
Using the new powerful sheetfile concept, unique to AllyCAD, you can generate production drawings with detailed title blocks, north signs, grids, scale bars and much more so that your plotting requires minimal, if any, CAD editing. The sheetfiles can be created or edited using normal CAD functions in a vastly improved Editor. AllyCAD 2011 works seamlessly with version 3.6 sheetfiles as well.

Did You Know?

CIVIL DESIGNER RUNS ON THE ALLYCAD CAD ENGINE
Our civil engineering infrastructure software (Civil Designer) runs on the AllyCAD CAD engine. The AllyCAD engine has been described as one of the fastest engines on the market and sets industry benchmarks for speed, strength and ease of use. Forming part of the heart of Civil Designer, it makes the package extremely robust and super fast. In today's industry where software needs to be able to handle increasingly more data, it is important to own software that can handle this increased demand and move forward with you through the times. The AllyCAD engine combined with the DTM engine allows Civil Designer to import 1,3million points in under a minute, while handling more than 16 million points. There are very few if any packages on the market that can handle this amount of data with such ease and speed!

YOU CAN RUN ALLYCAD 3.0 - 3.6 AT THE SAME TIME AS VERSION 2011
Existing users of AllyCAD that wish to run both the new AllyCAD 2011 and their old version 3.6, can do so on the same computer for as long as they like. Yes, that's right! You can keep working with 3.6 while learning AllyCAD 2011 and have both programs loaded on the same computer. This allows you time to adjust and learn all about the functionality in the new version of the software while still being able to use your old familiar version.

Make sure your Subscription is up to date so that you can enjoy this benefit and experience AllyCAD 2011.

Editing Survey Dimensions available from Release 4

Release 4 now allows for survey dimensions to have their distance and/or bearing values overridden with text of your choosing. Use the new Override properties on the Property Bar to do this. The overridden text is stored with the drawing. The actual measurement is not lost, and can be reverted to at any stage by clearing the override.

The example shows the distance and bearing value changed slightly from the actual measurement.

AllyCAD 2011 Conversion Course

Due to overwhelming demand, we will be continuing our AllyCAD 2011 conversion course to allow you to get up to speed with the latest software version. Book your AllyCAD 2011 training now to learn all about its new features and become increasingly productive. The AllyCAD course length differs accordingly to your experience with the program. AllyCAD version 3 users can complete the course in a day or two while a four day course is required for new users of the software. This gives experienced users a great opportunity to come on a course for just 1-2 days and get up to speed with the latest version of the software.

To book your seat or enquire about training please contact one of our offices. We look forward to your call.

INDEPENDENT RESEARCH SURVEY BY UCT
The University of Cape Town's (UCT) Business Science Honors Students conducted an in-depth investigation into client relationships in a Business to Business market and reviewed our company and software products for their annual thesis project. This was an independent research survey which received the largest amount of responses that the UCT Marketing Faculty has ever had to date in their entire history for such a project. We are ecstatic to see the results as they confirm that our software as well as our relationship with you is very highly regarded in the industry. This proves that there is no other CAD software that compares in terms of customer satisfaction.

UCT Independent Research Survey. Supervised by Professor Gert Human,
Marketing Lecturer, School of Management Studies at UCT.

With AllyCAD 2011 recently released, we look forward to even further improving this relationship with you and impressing you over the years with the continual ongoing development and our commitment to customer satisfaction.

NEW TECH TIPS

ANNOTATIVE TEXT

ANNOTATIVE TEXT
You may specify the height of text and dimensions in drawing units, mm or inches. If the text height is specified in drawing units the text will be scaled in layouts. If the text height is specified in mm or inches then it becomes annotative text which is always drawn in the specified size on paper regardless of scale.

CUSTOMER QUOTES

"I do everything in AllyCAD. It is probably our most important design tool. You can play around with it to get the different elements of the design to work together."
Senior Project Analyst at SAA Technical, Johannes Pretorius

"I must have produced 3000 drawings and issued approximately 5000 co-ordinates in AllyCAD. The co-ordinate system is better than any other package I've worked on."
Mandy Koorn, PDNA, structural design of Soccer City

"The software works faster than any other CAD software that I have used and the interface is so much simpler."
Mark Chapman, High Cross Forecourt Canopies, UK
