Edit Functions
The edit functions let you change existing drawing
elements and manipulate them in a number of ways.

EDIT |
|
• Double click to edit any entity
• Cut and paste using the Windows clipboard
• Move and rotate selected entities with a simple click and drag operation
• Copy, move, rotate and scale selected entities
• Mirror selected items about the vertical axis, horizontal axis or
a user-defined axis with the option to keep the original selection
• Move selected entities to the front of or behind other entities
• Move or copy selected entities to another layer
• Linear or radial repeat of selected entities
• Trim or snip away entities
• Divide and extend arcs and lines
• Divide and edit a line between the points of division
• Cut and rub out a line between two indicated points
• Join two lines
• Fillet two lines or arcs with a specified radius
• Chamfer two lines by offset /offset or offset / angle
• Snip all items inside or outside a box or circle
• Snip all items inside a polygon
• Convert linked lines to polylines
• Pick line types and text styles from existing entities on screen
• Measure angles, areas, perimeters and distances
• Stretch all items within a selected polygon or items defined by
the selection filter
• Move a point and everything attached to it
• Align or distribute selected objects vertically or horizontally to each other or to the drawing grid
• Remove duplicate and embedded entities, unused layers and
unused blocks
• Remove redundant line segments from polylines
• Join line end points if they are within a certain distance
• Tidy up over and undershoots where lines meet

SELECTIONS |

• Select by a mouse click, an enclosing rectangle, a crossing
rectangle or an enclosing polygon
• Specify selection filter for a combination of lines, arcs, circles,
polylines, data items, block inserts, arrows, dimensions, text,
hatch and solid fill
• Specify selection filter for a combination of colour, line style,
width, symbol and layer
• Select text entities by font, height, width, angle, label origin and
content

OBJECTS |

|
• Group elements into objects with name and parent name
• Show objects in a particular layer or with a specific name or
parent name
• Create a list of drawing objects with the following items – object
name, parent name, quantity, total area and total perimeter
• Create and insert blocks from selected drawing entities

• Point
• End of line, arc or circle
• Tangent to circle
• Perpendicular to a line
• Mid-line or at any ratio along the length of the line
• Mid-point or at any ratio between the points
• Intersection of any combination of entities
• Absolute or relative to a known position
• Absolute or relative polar (distance and bearing)
• Lock cursor to any angle, line, geometry line or isometric angle
• User-defined grid
• Circle quadrant
