SAICE MENTORSHIP DESIGN CHALLENGE WITH ALLYCAD

order to promote the upcoming design challenge competition. AllyCAD will be used in various design challenges which are open to all SAICE mentorship trainees. Winners of the competition stand a chance to win fabulous prizes and will be announced early next year in the Energy Newsletter of the municipality.

Knowledge Base donated student copies of AllyCAD to assist SAICE with the mentorship programme which forms part of a large capacity development project in local government. The programme allows students and graduates to become CAD proficient while at the same time helping municipalities to improve their records.

ALLYCAD AT THE 'ICT IN EDUCATION' EXPO

The Kwazulu Natal Department of Education 'ICT in Education' Indaba 2006 will take place 26 - 27 September 2006 at the ICC in Durban.

The Indaba aims to showcase technological solutions which support ICT teaching and learning and to promote the establishment of ICT technical support infrastructure within the communities in which state schools are based.

Knowledge Base will be exhibiting in conjuction with IT School Innovation (ITSI) in order to demonstrate the vital role of AllyCAD in ICT education and the Knowledge Base Learning Centre for FET schools.

THE ALLYCAD SURVEY TOOLKIT

The Survey Toolkit allows Surveyors to effortlessly generate Survey General diagrams and General Plans. You can also import, export, add, locate and connect survey points.

The Toolkit includes functions for generating cadastral diagrams and general plans that are in a “ready to lodge” state. Use an existing layout plan and convert it to a General Plan or generate diagrams of individual erven.

The Survey toolkit is divided into three broad categories. Firstly it consists of a few simple functions that offer assistance in drafting survey plans, secondly it provides some basic point manipulation functions, and thirdly it offers a suite of functions specifically intended for Land Surveyors and Town Planners.

The suite of functions specific to Land Surveyors assist in preparing cadastral diagrams, sectional title plans and general plans for Surveyor General Submission.
