Knowledge Base Contributes to SAACE HR Forum

The forum has become a critical resource for HR practitioners in consulting firms which assists them in interpreting legislation and changing requirements and formulating policy and developing uniform approaches to changing HR requirements.

Layers Settings In AllyCAD

A Layer pertains to the drawing layers. Different features of the actual AllyCAD drawing can be drawn on different layers to facilitate the viewing and printing of any combination of the drawing features.

You can access the following Layer Control options from the Layer Settings dialog box:

• Layer Name - you can type in the name of your choice. The name will be checked for incompatibility issues and be corrected automatically before it is stored.

• Layer Visibility - you can right click with the mouse to switch the layers visibility on or off. You can also accomplish this from the icon on the file toolbar shown alongside. Another method, is to press the 'L' on your keyboard to activate the "Set Visible Layers" dialog box.

• Layer Lock - you can freeze the layer so that one cannot edit anything on this layer.

• Layer Magnification – Every layer can have a scale factor applied to it except the first layer, layer 0. This scaling would generally be used for scaled details or inserts.

• Layer Highlight – This controls how layers will be highlighted on the screen. If you check the option 'Layer Highlight - none' then no layer will be highlighted.

If you draw "By Layer" you will be able to adjust the 'Layer Pen Colour' by right clicking on the layers colour. This will present you with the whole colour chart of 265 colours to choose from. You will also be able to control the layer linetype and line width. In addition, you can indicate whether you would like all the layers except the current layer that you are working on to be drawn in a dotted line type, or choose to draw each layer except the current layer in a different colour.

You can also choose whether you would like to work on all the layers or only a subset of layers. Layers can be sorted alpha-numerically and the settings can be saved and reloaded as required. Working with layers in AllyCAD is easy and you can add up to 65 000 layers making it the superior design program of choice.
