DEFINING YOUR ZOOM VIEWS
Defining a Zoom View allows you to zoom into a selected area of
your drawing so that you can concentrate on one area at a time for
greater control. You can define up to ten different zoom views
that can be stored with your drawing. To access the Zoom menu,
press ‘Z’ on your keyboard or go to ‘View’ in your menu bar and
select one of the zooms.
When defining your zoom view, the screen is divided into nine
boxes and a menu with numbers on it appears. Click on the number
in the menu that corresponds to the zoom that you are about to
define. A large cross hair will be displayed with the cursor at
the cross centre. The program will now prompt you to select one
corner of the area that you would like to zoom into. Press enter
or click to confirm your choice.
The program will next prompt you to select the second corner of
the area that you would like to zoom into. As you move the cursor,
you will see that it is attached to a box. Position the cursor so
that the box surrounds the area that you would like to define and
press enter or click.
The box that has been entered will be marked by green lines and
will be numbered. The menu of numbers will be displayed so that
you can define other views. To do this, simply click on another
number or exit the function by clicking anywhere on the screen
outside of the number menu.
Once you have defined your zoom views, you can access a
pre-defined view by selecting ‘Zoom View’ in the Zoom menu in
order to access the sub-menu of numbers. Click on the number that
corresponds to the view you would like to zoom into. The program
will now automatically zoom into the chosen window. If you have
not defined any views, a default view will be selected. To return
your drawing to its original unzoomed state, go to ‘View – Zoom
Paper’.
When you load your drawing, your last zoom is available
immediately. You can therefore step back through the last ten
zooms by accessing the Zoom Last function in the Zoom menu. You
can also step forward through zooms. Once you have defined your
views, zooming in and out of your drawing is quick, easy and
effortless.
