THE MECHANICAL SETUP
DIALOG
The
Mechanical Toolkit has its own toolbar for quick and easy
reference to all your favourite functions. You may customize the
Toolkits default settings to suit your individual preference by
modifying the Mechanical Toolkit Setup dialog.
The
‘Configuration file path’ in the Mechanical Setup dialog, tells
the Mechanical Toolkit where to store its settings data. The
toolkit will not work correctly if this file has not been
specified. AllyCAD 3.4. has been supplied with a standard “ISO
Mechspecs.ini” file situated in your CAD user directory. Should
you therefore wish to switch to an alternate configuration file,
simply browse for it by clicking on the ‘browse’ button.
The mechanical toolkit setup may further be configured by
specifying the pen colour, linetype and linewidth for the solid,
hidden and centre lines used to draw the mechanical components.
In addition, the ‘Annotation Setup’ displays the Annotation
Setup dialog used to customize the Mechanical Toolkit’s
annotation features. The ‘Welds Symbol file’ in this dialog
specifies the AllyCAD symbol file that should be used to draw
the weld symbols. This file must be specified before you can
draw welds.
You may also specify the weld annotation layer name, the
tolerance annotation layer name and the surface finish
annotation layer name in the Annotation Setup dialog. If no such
layer exists in your drawing, then this will be created as soon
as you draw a weld or tolerance annotation.
Other areas that may be configured include the relative scale
with which the annotation symbols are drawn, the annotation text
size, the length of the arrow head in the weld annotation as
well as the width of the arrow head in the weld annotation.
The mechanical toolkit in AllyCAD 3.4, is a powerful set of
tools designed to make the drawing of mechanical components
quicker and easier. By customizing it to suit your individual
needs, you will be assured of even faster throughput, saving you
time and increasing your productivity.
