Knowledge Base Recruitment Centre Goes "Live"

The Knowledge Base Recruitment Centre (KBR) has gone “live”. Job seekers in the technical field may now add their CV’s online to the KBR database, which once approved, will be uploaded onto the website. Potential candidates will also be able to search the website/database for current jobs available, while employers can check online for new recruits.

KBR serves to provide support to the civil engineering consulting firms and strives to secure the future of Civil Engineering. Essentially, it aims to bridge the gap between the employer and technical staff.

Industry sectors that are targeted include middle to senior level engineers, designers, architects, electrical engineers, quantity surveyors, GIS operators, natural scientists, engineering geologists and town planners. The Centre draws on a database of top personnel who are available for both permanent and contract positions in South Africa. There is also a special emphasis on graduate recruitment.

Most of the universities and technikons are existing users of Civil Designer and AllyCAD. This means that we are able to source some of the best graduates from the engineering and design faculties. The relationship with tertiary institutions is largely contained in our social responsibility plan that prescribes the use of our software at a heavily discounted rate. In terms of secondary institutions however, the use of our AllyCAD software bears no cost. We supply annual prize sponsorship to the best achiever and offer certificates, trophies and cash incentives with the primary aim of promoting design excellence.

KBR online applications will pave the way for professional personnel in the engineering and design fields so that they can take advantage of exciting career opportunities on offer.

PRODUCT INFO

Drawing Office Manager

One of the greatest advantages of the Drawing Office Manager is that it helps you to keep a record of the time spent on a drawing. You can therefore carry on with your normal workload without the added hassle of having to record your hours. The program will perform this function for you and will provide you with an accurate status report.

The Drawing Office Manager is only active once you have checked the “Use Drawing Office Manager” box in the File menu under Save Options - Save Settings. Once active, this function will track the details of each drawing.

It will record a brief description of the drawing, the name of the draftsperson, the drawing department, the drawing start date and the plot date. In addition, the Entity Statistics button lists the number of primitives, objects and layers in the drawing, allowing you to access detailed information.

Drawings that have been imported from AutoCAD may make use of the ‘Block Statistics’ button. This option will display statistics about AutoCAD blocks that are hidden within the drawing structure.

With the Drawing Office Manager, you will be able to retrieve accurate information on all your drawings in a matter of seconds, saving you loads of time!

I'd say that AllyCAD is probably our  most important and most commonly  used design tool. It has the simple  draughting capability we need...in  fact, it's the only CAD tool we use.
