DATA COMPATIBILITY
AllyCAD supports the reading and writing of AutoCAD's DWG format, DXF, Caddie CEX, Arcview SHP and ASCII files and can handle multi-resolution seamless (MrSID) images. This gives you the flexibility to move between drawings while minimizing incompatibilities and data exchange problems. In addition to this, AllyCAD handles JPG, TIFF and BMP files and also supports TFW, LOG and HGR geo-referenced bitmaps.

The South African Association of Consulting Engineers (SAACE) is working in conjunction with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers to promote
new standard documents for environmental principles around design and project management.
In a recent interview with Mining Weekly, SAACE president Felix Fongoqa explained that one of their
focus areas |
for this year included environmental legislation and environment-friendly designs.
"These all start at the design phase. If engineers and other professionals who are involved in projects
from the design phase are not conscious of environmental issues, then it is not going to happen.
It is important that as an industry, we become conscious and make sure that environment principles
form part and parcel of the way it does business and designs on projects" he added.
The association intends to make the standards available to its members so that they start incorporating these principles into their work.
