The current skills shortage has resulted in various initiatives by the South African Institute of Civil Engineering (SAICE) to address this problem head on. One of the successful initiatives created by the Institute, was the formation of "ENERGY'S" (Engineers Now to Ensure Roll-out by Growing Young Skills), a project which
|
served as a hands on training programme to newly qualified graduates. Trainees are trained in the use of AllyCAD and are mentored by retired engineers whilst meeting service delivery deadlines at municipal level.

We at Knowledge Base believe in the future of South Africa and are convinced that future rests on a system of law and order, education
|
| |
and healthcare. The Scorpions are the one organisation that has proved effective against organised crime with a success rate of 80%. As such we are passionate about supporting the fight against the decision to disband the Scorpions.
Following the petition to prevent the disbanding of the Scorpions, parliament has published a public notice indicating that they require public submissions regarding the proposed legislation to be received by 12:00 on the 28th of July.
We would like to encourage everyone to oppose the disbandment by submitting a letter stating how the disbandment will seriously affect the functioning of law enforcement and prosecution in South Africa. The letter should be addressed to any one of the following persons:
Mr V. Ramaano or Ms P. Sibiso or Mr J. Michaels
Committee Secretaries of the Portfolio Committee (Justice and Constitutional Development) & Portfolio Committee on Safety and Security,
3rd Floor
90 Plein Street
Cape Town, 8000
It is up to every citizen to stand up and be counted and to make South Africa a better place. Support this cause for yourself, your family and your children.
