First Pan African Conference |

The first Pan African Conference offering technical and vocational education and training will focus on the value of work in social change and tuition. The conference will include a number of keynote addresses from leading individuals in government

and industry to facilitate discussion and debate. There will also be a range of speakers from African colleges and universities as well as from Europe and Australia. The conference will focus on the challenges of flexible delivery and technology as well as the power of partnerships.
As a service partner to the Department of Education, Knowledge Base will be displaying information on AllyCAD at this year's conference and showcasing the software as a successfully implemented product in the facilitation of Engineering Graphics & Design and Civil Technology subjects. DXF/DWG File Handling in AllyCAD
AllyCAD supports the importing and exporting of AutoCAD 2008 drawings. The Import Wizard will even guide you through the process of salvaging a corrupt DXF/DWG file if necessary.
The Import Wizard automatically adjusts the drawing scale based on the selected paper size and units when reading the model space.
When importing cartesian drawings, there is an option to centre the drawing on the selected paper. This is performed automatically for surveyor drawings.
The Import Wizard does not appear when working with layouts as the scale, paper size and units are obtained from the drawing.
The importing and exporting of southern hemisphere DWG and DXF's includes the use of twist scenarios.
On exporting the user can negate the coordinates or apply a twist of 180 degrees and thereby retain the same coordinate values.
On import, if twist is present it will be used, otherwise the normal coordinate negation option will be used.
