Motsi is the Chief Technical Officer at the Roads Department of the Lesotho Ministry of Works. He has held this vital position for 7 years and enjoys the combination of civil engineering and design. His interest in the discipline stems from a close family relative who was passionate about civil engineering and who had a strong influence on Motsi's choice of career.

Civil Design Initiative
|
As part of a national outreach programme in civil engineering, Knowledge Base has entered into talks with the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE). The aim of this initiative is to lend support to the SAICE
|

Water Infrastructure design competition which encourages the development of civil infrastructure design skills at Further Education and Training level.
The competition is sponsored by the University of Johannesburg and the National Science Technology Forum. Over the next three months, Knowledge Base will also make contact with other tertiary institutions and interested organisations in order to join the collaboration. TRAINING

AllyCAD Training
All AllyCAD training courses are accredited with the South African Institute of Civil Engineering (SAICE) to receive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points. In addition to the current courses on offer, Knowledge Base will also provide a series of online training courses in 2008 which will be evaluated by the Institute and the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) for CPD weighting.

Drawing Bank Cut & Fill Lines in the Civil Toolkit
The Civil Toolkit allows the user to draw bank cut and fill lines between a shoulder line and a toe line, or an arc. You may specify the distance between bank lines, the ratio of short line to long lines, as well as the pen and line types of your choice.
Draw bank cut and fill hatching between any two lines or arcs:
- Specify distance between bank lines
- Specify ratio of short lines to long lines
- Specify pen and line type
