AllyCAD Quarterly Newsletter

Welcome to another edition of the AllyCAD newsletter.

In this issue I want to make sure that you're fully aware of our additional support offerings such as our AllyCAD user forum and remote desktop support on top of our standard telephone and email support. Knowing that you can get hold of us to solve your support issues in a friendly, fast and efficient manner gives you the peace of mind that you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

For all South African companies that are majority black owned, don't miss out reading about the DTI Grant. Oh, and for the architects out there - we showcase Tim Styles of Impendulo Design, and learn how he combines his draughting skills with the technical aspects of architecture.

AllyCAD 3D Beta Testing Progress

AllyCAD 3D Beta

The AllyCAD 3D Beta testing phase is well underway and final enhancements are currently being included. Additional usability studies are about to begin and a team of CAD designers will be putting the new AllyCAD through its paces to assess its user-friendliness. We want to ensure

that all our clients will experience a smooth transition to the new software once it is officially released in the final quarter of 2009. It is important for us to know that you will be able to adopt the benefits of the latest 3D design functionality without losing the intuitive interface and functionality that you are familiar with in AllyCAD 3.6.

Remote Desktop Support

The AllyCAD Support Centre already provides a comprehensive support service for our clients and is continually being improved to ensure that your requests are given priority. The email, telephonic and forum support channels have been extended to include a remote desktop sharing facility. This allows our Support Consultants to view or share your AllyCAD design while resolving your query or questions. Sometimes it is not always easy to explain the problem you are experiencing over the phone, and it can be much faster for a support consultant to take a look at what you are doing in order to provide effective assistance. The sharing application for support can be downloaded here (1.3MB).

Forum Focus

AllyCAD Forum

AllyCAD clients can access the AllyCAD support forum which allows interaction with other users and also provides discussion with the software developers. The platform allows you to share valuable macros, post new topics, reply to topics, edit and delete posts, and attach and download files. Free registration allows immediate access. Register here.

Claim 90% of your Future Software Cost

Did you know that the Department of Trade and Industry are offering to contribute up to 90% of the cost of your software as a business development service. This is offered to all enterprises that are majority black-owned in South Africa.

The maximum grant amount you can qualify for is a R100 000 towards the procurement of CIVIL DESIGNER and AllyCAD software (this does not apply to software already purchased). Additionally you can get a grant for training on the software for up to R15 000 (ex vat) per individual. To date 15 of our customers have benefitted from this system. While the process can take from 2 weeks up to 6 months, we are able to lease the software out to you in that period so you can get immediate access at little cost. To qualify for this incredible opportunity your company will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Majority black owned
  • Maximum annual turnover of R12 million per annum.
  • Must have a minimum trading history of one year.

Please contact us for information about applying for the grant.
