The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) held their Excellence Awards Ceremony on 24 May. Industry Partners, Commerce and the Public Sector were invited for their contribution to the development of skilled workforce in South Africa. Knowledge Base was among the companies

to receive acknowledgement at this event but a special tribute went to Africon Consulting Engineers for their outstanding contribution in the field of Engineering.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering & Surveying at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) held their annual prize giving ceremony on Wednesday 23 May 2007
in recognition of students who performed exceptionally well in the 2006 academic year. Prizes issued for the Best Civil Designer Project went to Mr R. Odendaal and Mr R. Meissenheimer, the prize

for the Best AllyCAD project (1st Year) went to Mr D. Feyt (pictured) and the prize for the Best student in Computer Applications 3 went to Mr J. Lowe.
Knowledge Base was pleased to acknowledge the success of these emerging professionals and
congratulate them on their outstanding academic achievements. Congratulating them is Reece Hanning from Knowledge Base.

SNAP MODES IN AllyCAD
 |
Snap modes allow you to complete your drawings with precision.
|
In Snap Mode, the cursor moves exactly onto an existing part of the drawing and the point that is snapped to is accepted.
This move and accept is performed each time you press 'Enter' or your left mouse button.
A Snap Mode is therefore useful if you must continuously snap onto the same type of point, for example if you are drawing lines between grid points and must continually snap onto those grid points.
The Snap Mode saves you having to jump to the point and then accepting it as two separate actions.
The different snap modes that may be accessed in AllyCAD include: Grid, Grab All, Point, Freehand, Geom Intersection, Circle Centre, Perpendicular, Nearest Line / Arc, Tangent and Intersection.
