| WELCOME TO THE ALLYCAD NEWSLETTER |
 |
Well 2008 was certainly a very 'interesting' year for most and I am sure 2009 continues to be a big question mark. At least South Africans can sit back and thank good old Trevor Manual for the National Credit Act, which has resulted in our banks being considered 'safer' than the Swiss, German, British and American banks and most of us have faith that our economy will weather the storm reasonably well.
I am very happy to say that it has been business as usual for us and we are looking forward to an exciting, busy and pro-active 2009. This year it's also our 20th Birthday, which we celebrate in June and it gives us great satisfaction to look back and see how we have continued to go from strength to strength.
ALLYCAD 3D ENTERS ITS BETA TESTING PHASE
What's really got us excited this year is that AllyCAD 3D version 2009 has just entered its Beta Testing stage.
While we have been overwhelmed by people wanting to get a glimpse of the software before its official release, we are restraining ourselves from releasing it and making sure that it undergoes a thorough test phase.
Now typically we have numerous advancements every year, but our developers have been working hard on AllyCAD 3D version 2009 for the last 3 years. Expect the official public launch to be in the second half of this year and we hope you are as eager as us to experience the next generation of AllyCAD.
FORUM FOCUS
We have positive responses indicating that our AllyCAD forum is a great channel for gaining support by those that have used it.
Our developers check it often in addition to our support staff and we find that as the forum grows we have a few users with a wealth of knowledge who enjoy passing this on to others. So save the URL in your web browser favourites and register if you are not already a member:

Example of a basic user tip from the forum:
To include the degree symbol simply enter //D where you want it to be displayed. Another symbol you can use is //O which places the diameter symbol on the drawing. Alternatively you can use the Character Map application to copy any symbol to the clipboard and then paste it into the text entry dialog.
