Curriculum Advisors across all seven Education Management Development Centres (EMDC's) recently attended an AllyCAD refresher training course. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Engineering Graphics and Design components were evaluated in the latest AllyCAD 3.6 version. The training was positively received by all.

KWA-ZULU NATAL
The Department of Education in Kwa-Zulu Natal is hosting a series of training workshops across various educational centres in order to discuss the implementation of the new Curriculum to Grade 12 learners. The Director of the KZN Curriculum Unit, Mrs Dlamini, extended an invitation to Knowledge Base to present AllyCAD as an instruction medium to 80 schools in the region. AllyCAD is provided as part of a social investment campaign in support of learners in the Further Education and Training band who wish to pursue careers in engineering. THE SELECTION FILTERS TOOL
Specific elements within your drawing can be selected using this tool. You may select by entity type (line, arc text), by property (layer, color, text font) or even by text string. The dialog box will remain open while you are working in the program so that you can have instant access to the Selection Filters function. |
The filters are applied to all selection functions. If you set up the filters to select only arcs, you will find that when you 'Select All', only the arcs and circles will be selected. In a similar fashion, when you select everything within a Polygon, only the arcs and circles within that polygon with be selected.
Once selected, the group of primitives is called the selection set. It is highlighted and surrounded by handles or nodes so that you have the option to edit, move, mirror, scale, copy, rotate or even delete within the set.
