SABS DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Design Institute promotes design in South Africa through a variety of initiatives. For nearly 40 years one of the major vehicles used
to reward design excellence has been the SABS's flagship design award scheme known
|
most recently as the Disa Design Excellence Awards.
The award aims to recognize the achievements of South African product designers, encouraging local design and manufacture, as well as promoting international competitiveness of local products. The closing date for entries for the 2008 SABS Design Excellence Awards is 15 May 2008 and final adjudication will take place at the SABS Design Institute in Pretoria from 28 to 31 July 2008. Award winners can look forward to taking part in the SABS's Exhibition that runs from 28 - 31 October at the Sandton Convention Centre.

USING LAYERS
Drawing features can be designed on different layers so that selected features can be viewed or printed. You can alter the Layer Name, Visibility, Lock, Magnification and Highlight options in the Layer Settings dialog box.
|
If drawings are completed "By Layer" the 'Layer Pen Colour' can be adjusted and the layer line type and line width can be controlled. In addition, you can indicate whether you would like all the layers except the current layer that you are working on to be drawn in a dotted line type, or choose to draw each layer except the current layer in a different colour.
You can also choose whether you would like to work on all the layers or only a subset of layers. Layers can be sorted alpha-numerically and the settings can be saved and reloaded as required.
